Background info

If I were to describe myself in one sentence, I would say I am a shy, creative, twenty-year-old writer with a sense of humour. I also like to think I am not one of the least intelligent creatures on this planet.

I was born and raised in Holland and I still live in the same house I was born in. My two older brothers have both moved out years ago and I will hopefully find my own place to live soon.

Pets

I have a Shiba Inu named Shiba[1] and numerous fish. Shiba is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting creatures on this planet. Her personality is very similar to mine and she’s my best friend. I have guppies that moved into my fish tank about four years ago. The males and females now live separately. All of my fish are nameless except for one, Charlie. She is a funny-looking catfish and I have deep conversations with her every night before I go to sleep[2].

My passion

My number one passion is writing. When I was two years old I asked my mum to teach me how to write and I have loved writing ever since. At school my teachers would read my stories in front of the class. My favourite genres are romance and fantasy. My dream is to have a book published one day.

Languages

My favourite language is and has always been English. I taught myself to speak English at the age of seven. At school I was taught to speak German and French, but I forgot most of it.

Reading

As someone who loves to write, I also love reading books. Although my first language is Dutch, I prefer reading books in English. My favourite genres are fantasy and romance. Books I like are the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, the Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, any book written by Nicholas Sparks.

Music

Music is a very important aspect of my life. I listen to music almost every day and I love singing along with my favourite songs. My favourite singers are Taylor Swift, Mandy Moore, Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, Michael Bublé and Drew Seeley. I also love movie soundtracks and I like to listen to them while I’m writing.

Movies

I’m not a big fan of TV shows, but I love movies. I like most genres, except horror. My favourite genres are romantic comedies[3], fantasy, drama and psychological thrillers. I love watching movies that make me think, movies with a message. On the other hand, I also enjoy watching movie musicals and Marvel’s “Superhero” movies. Movies I like include A Walk to Remember, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hairspray, Moulin Rouge, The Notebook, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Invisible, August Rush, Keith, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Big Fish, the Spider-Man movies, Penelope, Atonement, X-Men Trilogy, The Da Vinci Code, Twilight.

Creativity

I like to keep myself occupied with creative things such as writing, drawing, singing and designing websites. I love creating new things and expressing myself through creative things such as writing and drawing.
