The truth is that some people are too busy to go out and meet people or want to get to know someone better before they go out on a date with them.

Through online dating people are given the chance to meet others they otherwise would never have met. Although the opinions about online dating are divided, thousands of people get married every year, thanks to online dating, so it is definitely worth a try if you’re up for it.

What’s your opinion on online dating?

I spent the past few weeks designing a website for an awesome new gaming company based in Australia. I’m happy to say the website is almost finished! I will put up a link to their website as soon as it’s finished.

I promised to put up a new design on this website a while ago, and as you can tell nandawrites.com is still using the old design. A few days before I had planned to put up the new design, I ran into some problems, and I’ve been too busy to fix them. I promise I will, as soon as possible!

Today is the day a lot of people have been looking forward to. Christmas. A day to spend with family and friends, people you love. As you might know, us Dutch people have two days of Christmas. This afternoon I am going to visit my aunt and uncle and tonight I’m going to watch a film. Tomorrow me and my parents are going to do this thing called raclette (we call it ‘gourmet’). Raclette is my favourite part of Christmas, as everyone gets to prepare their own food.

Yesterday my friend Daniel asked if I knew my dog, Shiba, was on Twitter. My reply: “Yes, she must’ve been using my laptop while I wasn’t looking.”

A few days ago I found it to be almost unbelievable when I found out my dog was using Twitter. I knew she was intelligent, but intelligent enough to turn on my laptop and tweet away on Twitter? No way. But it’s true. You should go see for yourself: @shibatweets is her handle on Twitter.

Twitter isn’t new, but it seems like the social networking website is getting more and more popular. A little over a year ago people didn’t understand what was so interesting about Twitter. These days people are finding more and more ways to use Twitter, and now it seems like even dogs are taking over Twitter.

Shiba isn’t the only dog who tweets. They all have an account on Twitter.

Even cats like @iamButton and @Elvis_cat use Twitter to plan their attack on their rivals[1]

So if Twitter’s not safe from dogs and cats anymore, what’s next? Giraffes joining Twitter?

Most people have heard of the very popular Twilight Saga—a series of four books about Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen. In New Moon we’ll get to know Bella’s best friend, Jacob Black, better.

Some people call New Moon the movie of the year, which makes sense, because wherever you go, and whatever country you live in, Twilight is everywhere. It’s in books, magazines, on television, on posters. People talk about it all day—New Moon has been a trending topic on Twitter for months.

The premiere of the new film, New Moon, was on Tuesday and thousands of fans from all over the world watched the premiere live on MySpace, and some even camped in front of the Mann Theatre for four days to be able to see their favourite stars in real life on the red carpet.

Last night I went to the cinema to watch New Moon and I can tell you that the film surpassed my expectations. Stars Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) all did a great job at portraying their characters.

Although some people call Kristen Stewart’s performance in Twilight weak, she surprised me in this movie and I think she’s doing a good job at portraying Isabella Swan, the girl that many girls and women of all ages can relate to.

Robert Pattinson did not get much screen time (about 45 minutes), but he’s great as Edward Cullen, the vampire who loves Bella so much, he decides it’s best for her to leave her, for her own protection.

The person who amazed me the most was Taylor Lautner. He isn’t just some actor playing Jacob, he is Jacob Black. Jacob is Bella’s best friend and he’s in love with her. To make the situation even more complicated we find out he’s a werewolf.

New Moon is an emotional, but action-packed movie. In many aspects I think this movie is much better than Twilight. With the special effects and the introduction of the wolves this movie is filled with action. Some parts of the movie might be a bit cheesy, but there’s enough action to keep even male moviegoers entertained. So guys: Don’t worry if your girlfriend wants you to see this movie with her. You’ll like it just as much as she does.

To anyone who hasn’t seen the movie (yet), I’d suggest you to drop everything you’re doing[1] and to go see it now. You won’t be disappointed.

1. Okay, not literally…↑

My wrists really started to hurt and for a few days could barely type, so I’m trying not to use the computer too much. The new layout will be up as soon as possible.

It is day six of NaNoWriMo. That means we’ve[1] been writing for almost a week. I am currently one day ahead and I’d like to keep it that way. That means: No procrastinating—well, not too much—and writing at least 2,000 words a day.

Last year NaNoWriMo was tough for me. I was actually on the verge of giving up when someone (sadly enough I forgot who that someone was; I blame my bad memory for that) told me that I needed to remember why I was writing in the first place. That really helped me win NaNoWriMo in 2008, so I would like to pass this tip on to you guys[2]: Do not focus on word count too much. Just do what you love to do: Write. Only check your word count during your breaks or when you feel like you’re done for the day. That way the words will flow more easily and your word count will go up in no time.

On a different note: Today and yesterday I have been working on a new design for the website, so expect that to be up <del datetime="2009-11-07T12:02:29+00:00">this</del> next weekend!

1. And with ‘we’ I mean all NaNoWriMo participants.↑
2. And again, I’m talking about writers.↑

November has only just started for me, so it’s time to start writing!

I plan to write at least 2,000 words a day (even though I only really need to write 1,667 words a day) so I’ll be able to take a few extra breaks later on.

In the sidebar (to your right) you will be able to see how many words I have written so far.

Good luck to all NaNoWriMo participants!
