Yesterday my friend Daniel asked if I knew my dog, Shiba, was on Twitter. My reply: “Yes, she must’ve been using my laptop while I wasn’t looking.”

A few days ago I found it to be almost unbelievable when I found out my dog was using Twitter. I knew she was intelligent, but intelligent enough to turn on my laptop and tweet away on Twitter? No way. But it’s true. You should go see for yourself: @shibatweets is her handle on Twitter.

Twitter isn’t new, but it seems like the social networking website is getting more and more popular. A little over a year ago people didn’t understand what was so interesting about Twitter. These days people are finding more and more ways to use Twitter, and now it seems like even dogs are taking over Twitter.

Shiba isn’t the only dog who tweets. Check out @skyecollie, @samcollie and @sadieshihtzu. They all have an account on Twitter.

Even cats like @iamButton and @Elvis_cat use Twitter to plan their attack on their rivals[1]

So if Twitter’s not safe from dogs and cats anymore, what’s next? Giraffes joining Twitter?

1. Dogs, of course.↑
